The Financial Crime unit is currently looking to recruit a Senior Financial Crime Advisor to be responsible for Financial Crime coverage of Santander Corporate and Commercial Banking, including MI, reporting and other duties as required. As a Senior Financial Crime Advisor your skills and qualifications will ideally include: In depth financial crime experience gained within a Corporate and Commercial banking environment. Detailed understanding of a wide range of banking products and the associated financial risks. Strong risk and control mind set with proven ability to design, implement and monitor effective controls. Natural curiosity with the confidence to question and interrogate information provided and identify unusual or potentially suspicious behaviour. Detailed technical knowledge of key financial crime concepts across (i) sanctions (ii) bribery and corruption (iii) anti-money laundering and (iv) fraud. In depth knowledge of key legislation and regulatory bodies driving financial crime policies and best practices across the banking industry. Excellent written & oral communication skills and an ability to build and maintain working relationships with the business Commercially aware and able to effectively deploy a risk-based approach when evaluating new business opportunities. As a Senior Financial Crime Advisor your main responsibilities will involve: Acting as an escalation point for all financial crime related queries arising from the Corporate and Commercial Banking divisions. Engaging with other functional teams within the wider financial crime unit to ensure that internal escalations and queries are addressed with the respective business representatives e.g. adverse news alerts, STP hits and ad-hoc regulatory enquiries. Engaging with other oversight, governance and control functions internally within the Financial Crime unit and externally across the organisation as a whole to ensure that resulting decisions are practical and enforceable. Seeking timely resolutions to actions and remediation points arising from all other governance and oversight functions – Internal Audit, Operational Risk and Compliance Monitoring. Adding value and influencing to strategic initiatives which impact key business stakeholders. Provision of bespoke, product aligned training to identified higher risk areas of the Corporate and Commercial Banking division.
