We are looking for candidates of graduate calibre with a strong numerical mind set and excellent attention to detail to join our Middle Office team in Chester as a Trade Control Analyst. You will provide valuable support to assigned trading desks and organise timely and accurate management of the trade capture process as part of a wider team.
You will be a natural problem solver with strong business acumen and communication skills, able to build relationships at all levels. Previous experience is not essential however you must be highly motivated to succeed, have a keen interest in accounting principles, be able to learn quickly and willing to go the extra mile.
For top performers as part of your long term professional development there may be opportunities for supported study in ACCA or CIMA.
As part of our Trade Control Analyst your main responsibilities will involve:
Trade Booking and Validation – Timely and accurate management of trade capture process to ensure all trades are booked according to terms of underlying agreement in both Front-Office and down-stream applications
Provide support to assigned trading desks – Support the Trading desk across all Middle-Office functions in a timely and accurate manner
Ongoing Trade maintenance – Manage trade lifecycle events such as resets, fixings, substitutions, credit default events, expiries and Maturities
Investigate and resolve position breaks – Work closely with Front and Back Office to resolve breaks (e.g. Cash, Positions, Valuations etc)
Production of daily reports – Distribute Daily reports to the Trading desk and Senior Management (requiring a high level of attention to detail) Resolve Risk and P&L issues - Work closely with MO, Risk and P&L to resolve issues in a timely manner
As Trade Control Analyst your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
Excellent organisational skills are required with the ability to prioritise daily workload whilst working accurately under pressure
Strong communication and negotiation skills and the ability to build relationships across all levels of seniority
Previous experience in dealing with internal and external clients
Ability to rapidly learn and understand new tasks presented and quickly commit to memory in a high volume environment
Logical approach to problem solving taking ownership and offering practical solutions
Analytical skills including data reconciliation and interpretation
A strong numerical mind set with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to identify and deliver process improvements
Competence in databases, excel (macros, formulas)and outlook
Minimum Bachelors degree ideally in Mathematics / Finance / Physics / Economics or similar numerical subject
Experience or knowledge of investment banking products from a Middle Office or Back Office background is desirable but not essential
