High quality individual sought to provide proactive support to deliver the highest quality transaction execution in support of Commercial & Private Banking’s financial sponsor and complex corporate and commercial deal activity. A technical role demanding strong credit and financial analysis skills, growing debt structuring skills, together with the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.  

 

Job Description

 

  • To assist in the relationship management of private equity houses and key financial introducers locally in order to maximise deal origination
  • Working alongside a deal leader, deliver transactions through the Bank’s credit process, including the production of sighting/credit papers and high quality financial analysis and cash flow modelling
  • Contribute to the effective project management of deal processes, interfacing effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  •  

    Technical Requirements

     

  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of credit risk and debt structuring and an ability to identify appropriate transaction structures on a deal-by-deal basis
  • Commission, scope and critically review all types of transaction due diligence, evidencing an ability to interact effectively with due diligence providers to ensure that reports are fit for purpose
  • Demonstrate a detailed understanding of RAROE, RWA & IoRWA
  • Prepare a range of credit materials for internal approval processes that consistently present a balanced risk assessment of deal opportunities together with a compelling case to support proposed transactions
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of financial statements, an ability to analyse often complex financial information, and strong financial modelling skills

    Financial Management

     

  • Contribute to the achievement of Structured Finance Scotland financial targets through high quality deal execution
  • Contribute to the maintenance of the quality and performance of the asset portfolios through high quality deal execution in line with asset class strategies
  • Identify all product partner cross-sell opportunities early in deal processes and engage with product specialists effectively in order to deliver attractive funding solutions to customers while achieving optimum capital efficiency/returns for the Bank
  •  

    Responsibilities

     

  • Contribute to the achievement of Structured Finance Scotland financial targets through high quality deal execution, and by identifying all product partner cross-sell opportunities early in deal processes and engaging effectively with product specialists
  • Provide an outstanding customer experience during the deal process through prompt and effective responses to customers, deal intermediaries and financial sponsors
  • Prepare high quality credit materials that present a balanced assessment of transaction opportunities
  • Deliver high quality financial analysis and cash flow modelling
  • Manage transaction processes effectively, both with internal and external stakeholders, and work effectively as part of a team
  •  

    Experience

     

  • Good/excellent knowledge of credit processes and policy and strong credit experience
  • Good/excellent knowledge and application of financial modelling techniques, financial analysis skills and debt structuring principles. Ideally possessing an accountancy qualification
  • Good interpersonal, negotiation and networking skills
  • Proven ability to work as a member of a team
